Style Session – RIBBON

ACCORDION/PLEATED TECHNIQUE

The accordion or pleated method is another beautiful way to showcase your ribbons in your tree, wreath, or garland.

We recommend keeping the ribbon length to 24in to 36in for this method as well.

  • Start at one end create your first loop. Unlike bow making you will not pinch.

  • Continue to fold the ribbon upon itself until you create the desired number of loops or you reach the end of the ribbon
  • Careful not to pinch the bottom too much. The ribbon should resemble ribbon candy from the side.
  • Then gently place the ribbon in the desired location on the tree. Use the branches to hold it in place
  • PRO TIP: if the ribbon doesn’t hold just right – use a binder clip on the back to gently clamp the ribbon – then attach to the tree using wire. Careful to ensure the binder clip is not visible.
